Rain wrecks qualiposted in F109 | 10 | 2010

TORRENTIAL RAIN forced the cancellation of today's qualifying session for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix. The crucial session has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning, just five hours before the start of the race at Suzuka.

Storms battered the the coastal track throughout the session and the surface was covered by flowing water making it impossible for the F1 cars to avoid aquaplaning.

It's the first time a Formula One qualifying session has been abandoned and put back to Sunday since the edge of a tornado in 2004, again in Japan, caused major disruption.
