Di Resta tops Brands practiceposted in DTM04 | 09 | 2010

MERCEDES ACE Paul di Resta showed he will be the man to beat again at this year's DTM race at Brand Hatch when he put in the fastest time in this morning's practice.

The 24-year-old Scot catapulted himself to the top of the timesheets in the closing stages with a best lap of 41.101secs, 0.065s faster than the Audi of his nearest rival, Oliver Jarvis. Gary Paffett was third in his Merc to complete a Brit 1-2-3.

"That was important for me," Di Resta admitted afterwards. "it proves we have the pace this weekend to win; now I have to make sure I do it all again in qualifying this afternoon."

Di Resta is currently third in the championship just two points behind Paffett in second, and 11 adrift of leader, Bruno Spengler. The Canadian was fifth-fastest this morning.
