Record 22 F1 GPs set for 2020posted in F129 | 08 | 2019

FORMULA 1 HAS released dates for a record 22-race calendar for 70th anniversary season in 2020. While still officially a ‘draft’, the calendar sees the German Grand Prix dropped, while the Italian remains. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is scheduled for July 19, a week after this year’s race. (Related: Sir Jackie Stewart at 80)

The two new races added to the calendar are the Dutch GP at Zandvoort, and the first Vietnam GP. This is the 34th country to have hosted an F1 GP, with the race taking place on April 5 on a street circuit in the capital city of Hanoi.

Zandvoort is scheduled for May 3, marking the return of the Dutch GP for the first time in 35 years. Its inclusion is no surprise given the mass of support for Dutchman Max Verstappen.

The season gets underway with the Australian GP in Melbourne on March 15 and, as usual, it will end with the Abu Dhabi GP at the Yas Marina Circuit on November 29.

There is one notable clash: the Canadian GP on June 14 is the same weekend as the Le Mans 24-Hours.
