Peter Vardy set for Glasgow expansion  15 | 08 | 2010

GLASGOW-BASED dealership group Peter Vardy is poised to open its first outlet in the city after it acquired a £2.5 million plot of land at the Braehead retail park near Renfrew. The ground was previously owned by Spanish/French motorbike manufacturer Sherco, which bought it in 2002 but never developed it.

Peter Vardy, was set up four years ago, has acquired and built six dealerships in that time and though it operates in Edinburgh, Perth, Motherwell, Kirkcaldy and Aberdeen, it does not yet have a dealership in Glasgow. That though looks set to change.

Most of the group's current dealerships are Vauxhall, though the company also operates BMW and Mini in Edinburgh. The latest purchase of land in Glasgow confirms Peter Vardy's personal commitment to acquire more dealerships in Scotland and England.
