Scots get revised Citroen C5 27 | 10 | 2010

CITROEN'S SCOTTISH dealership network is preparing to receive the new upgraded C5 model which goes on sale across Scotland on Monday. Boasting subtle styling changes, the latest model of the French manufacturer's svelte cruiser comes complete with new equipment options and a refreshed engine range.

As is the fad, the upgrades on both the saloon and estate models include new LED lights at the front and new glass for the rear light clusters. All C5 Exclusive models will get Citroen’s eTouch emergency and assistance system, which allows a driver to make emergency calls using the car’s in-built SIM card, fitted as standard.

The biggest changes though are in the engine department. All engines in the C5 range are now EuroV compliant, and the improvements has led to the introduction of a new 108bhp 1.6 HDi unit to replace the outgoing EuroIV version.

Both the 1.6i THP 153bhp and 3.0HDi V6 237bhp engines have been re-homolgated and as a result economy increases from 39.8mpg to 42.2mpg and 38.2mpg to 39.2mpg respectively. There's also a drop in CO2 emissions, down 14g/km and 6g/km respectively.

Prices for the new C5, which goes on sale across Scotland on Monday, start from £19,195 for the entry-level 1.6HDi saloon.
