Double award for Phoenix Honda 03 | 09 | 2010

SCOTLAND'S LARGEST Honda dealership, Phoenix Honda in Paisley, scooped the Sales Team of the Year award at the 2010 Motor Trader Industry Awards. And just to round off the night, Mark Murphy from Phoenix's Honda Glasgow dealership was voted Sales Manager of the Year

In the battle to win the 'Sales Team of the Year' award, the judges were looking for a team which had excelled in challenging conditions and delivered profitable long-term business. They wanted to see clear evidence of innovative sales programmes and genuine teamwork, and were hugely impressed with Phoenix Honda’s achievements.

“The sales team all showed themselves to be highly motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable with a deep understanding of the wants and needs of individual customers,” Motor Trader Awards editor Curtis Hutchinson explained.

The sales team, led by dealer principal Debbie Hubner — pictured with Hutchinson (extreme left) and compere Ray Stubbs (right) — helped grow Phoenix Honda sales by 5.8% in a challenging year. The dealership also achieved impressive CSI ratings making this one of the most impressive sites in the carmaker’s UK network.

The award for the 'Sales Manager of the Year' acknowledged the crucial role played by a sales manager. The judges were seeking someone who had motivated their team, implemented and led successful sales programmes and excelled in customer satisfaction and retention.

Mark Murphy joined the Hyndland business from the Paisley site in 2008 and has helped turn around the sales operation.

“Mark has successfully imported many of the group’s best practices into the business," Hutchinson continued. "His professionalism and the subsequent upturn in business impressed Motor Trader’s panel of judges.”
