Scot takes on the world in Bahrain 11 | 01 | 2011

SCOTS TRUCK boss Kieran McCahill will fly the Saltire in Bahrain when he contests the Volvo Masters Amateur in Bahrain later this month. The managing director of Ferrymill Motors, Glasgow, has come through two previous competitions in Edinburgh and Gothenburg in Sweden.

“It will be fantastic to play in Bahrain with some of the world’s most famous players and on a truly fabulous course," Kieran, who will tee-off between January 27 and February 2 in Bahrain, admitted. "I can’t wait.”

The Volvo Masters Amateur runs side-by side with the world’s best professional golfers who will be in Bahrain to play their opening round of the 2011 European Professional Tour.

Kieran will be able to meet some of the top players and has the chance to qualify to play against big names like winning Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie. While Kieran got in some last minute practice in the snow, he admitted he was quite relaxed about the prospect.

“However well I do in Bahrain, I'll be more than happy," he smiled. "I must thank Volvo for organising such a wonderful tournament.”
