VW's Amarok set for debut 13 | 01 | 2011

VOLKSWAGEN'S MEATY Amarok pick-up will finally make it's long-awaited debut in the UK when it appears at this weekend's Outdoors Show at the ExCel exhibition centre in London’s Docklands. It goes on sale in Scotland later this year.

With its attractive mix of robust pick-up with innovative technology, high safety standards, excellent fuel economy and Volkswagen standards of comfort, quality and durability, the new four-door double-cab pick-up was recently honoured with the inaugural International Pick-up Award.

The Amarok boasts the largest load dimensions in its class with a load area of 2.52 sq/m (1555mm long, 1,620mm wide, with width between wheelarches of 1222mm).

All models feature advanced technology and safety systems including — ok, deep breath time — EDL (Electronic Differential Lock), ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation), ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) with Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control and off-road ABS designed to shorten stopping distances significantly on loose surfaces.

Prices for the Amarok will be confirmed in the next few months ahead of it entering showrooms across Scotland.
