F1 to boost RenaultSport sales 04 | 02 | 2016

    HOT ON THE HEELS of it unveiling its new Formula One team, Renault has pledged to "work much harder" to link its new grand prix outfit with its RenaultSport road car range.

    Renault chairman and chief executive Carlos Ghosn has confirmed the French manufacturer's high-performance division will split into two co-operative parts, Renault Sport Racing and Renault Sport Cars.

    It's primary solitary, simple aim?  To increase worldwide brand awareness and sales of cars.

    Recently, Renault Sport Cars has been concentrating on increasing the global reach and the appeal of its cars is now responsible for the GT versions the Mégane, Clio and Twingo, the latter is due later this year.

    According to Ghosn, Renault Sport will “develop its international footprint, brand appeal and portfolio growth”.

    He went on to say: "Motorsports still spark the imagination of both enthusiasts and everyday drivers, and we are putting a comprehensive program in place.

    "Formula 1 is a big part of our efforts to boost awareness of Renault, particularly in markets where Renault is a newcomer, and will enhance the transfer of technologies from the track to our road cars."
