Hot Skoda Kodiaq vRS to cost £42,870 07 | 01 | 2019
SKODA HAS CONFIRMED its new Kodiaq vRS, fitted with the most powerful production diesel engine in the Czech firm's history, will start at £42,870; that’s £17,100 more than the entry-level Kodiaq SE. Order books are open now at Scottish dealerships, with first deliveries scheduled for the Spring. (Related: Skoda Kodiaq Sportline)
Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last autumn, the seven-seat Kodiaq vRS is powered by a twin turbocharged 2.0TDI engine, and comes with four-wheel-drive system and seven-speed DSG gearbox as standard. It can sprint from 0-62mph in 7.0 seconds and has a top speed of 136mph.
Skoda claims it has fuel consumption of 47.1mpg and CO2 emissions of 157g/km, both measured on the soon-to-be-replaced NEDC cycle.
The Kodiaq vRS is also the first Skoda to get dynamic sound boost. Plus it’s fitted with adaptive chassis control, which includes six drive modes and electronically adjusted shock absorbers. Progressive steering is also included as standard.
Externally, a number of design tweaks ensure the lattes model stands out from the rest of the Kodiaq range. In addition to gloss black bodywork elements and a new design of 20in alloy wheel, the vRS gets bespoke front and rear bumpers.
It also introduces Skoda's redesigned vRS logo. It now has a red V and stripe ahead of the RS, in place of the green currently used. This logo will replace the current logo on all vRS models in the future.
Inside the cabin, there’s figure-hugging Alcantara-trimmed sports seats finished with contrast vRS stitching and logo, along with a black rooflining and vRS stitching for the door panels, plus ambient LED lighting and tinted windows.
The vRS is also the first Škoda to be offered with fully digital Virtual Cockpit display as standard. To reflect the car’s sporting nature, the Kodiaq vRS’s system includes a special Sport view that places the speedometer in the centre of the display. There’s also a sports steering wheel.
