Evoque gets 2020 updates 26 | 08 | 2020

LAND ROVER HAS introduced a number of useful updates — including mild-hybrid diesel engines, and a new top-of-the-range Autobiography — to its Range Rover Evoque range, and copied them into the sister Land Rover Discovery Sport. (Related: New PHEV Evoque and Discovery Sport)

New to the Evoque are 161bhp and 201bhp mild-hybrid diesel engines. These match a 4-cylinder diesel unit with electrical assistance and all-wheel drive. Though Land Rover has yet to confirm prices, the latest Evoque is already on-sale with prices starting at £32,100. (Related: Review — Range Rover Evoque)

The Evoque’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine remains. Available in 197bhp, 246bhp and 296bhp outputs, the three power units are mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive system as standard.

The new Evoque now also has a new range-topper, in the form of the highly-specced Autobiography. Essentially it’s a more luxurious take on the car’s existing HSE Dynamic trim. (Related: Return of the iconic Land Rover Defender)

Across the range, all models now also benefit from a new steering wheels and updated infotainment set-ups. New systems called Pivi and Pivi Pro replace the Touch Pro set-up used in the old models, but they sit in the same housing as before, using the same display technology.

There are also updates to the software, which have resulted in new, simpler menus. In addition, an updated navigation set-up is also among the main changes. Spotify music streaming has been integrated for the first time, plus the systems are now compatible with over-the-air updates. (Related: All-new Range Rover Evoque)

Land Rover has also ‘cleaned up’ the cabin, by introducing a new,  extremely efficient air filtration system. The system can filter out fine particulates down to just 2.5 microns in size, which is 30 times smaller than the width of human hair.

“The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography delivers the promise of Range Rover, with refined modernity and sophistication both on the exterior and interior,” Prof Gerry McGovern OBE, Chief Creative Officer, Land Rover, said. “Since its introduction in 2010, the characterful Evoque has turned heads, and elegant details further enhance its sophisticated character.”
