Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition 08 | 12 | 2020

ASTON MARTIN HAS launched a spirited special edition of its new DBX SUV. The DBX Bowmore Edition pays tribute to the Scottish single malt whisky from Islay, Bowmore. Limited to just 18 units, each will cost £219,950, with first deliveries expected at the end of next year. (Related: Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger)

Created by the marque’s personalisation service, Q by Aston Martin, the bodywork is also finished in a unique paint colour, called Bowmore Blue. Xenon Grey paint, which displays a blue metallic fleck throughout, will be offered as an additional exterior option. (Related: Aston Martin reveals DBX SUV)

Cosmetic revisions over the standard include new copper-coloured inlays for the SUV’s side strakes, which the brand says is a nod to Bowmore’s copper-pot stills, plus smoked alloy wheels and optional black brake calipers.

There are further styling tweaks inside the cabin, again reflecting the Islay distillery. The car’s cup holders and door steps are made from polished copper, recycled from the original Bowmore still, while the dashboard and centre console features copper foil detailing.

Buyers can choose from two upholstery options, Obsidian or a blend of Copper Tan and Obsidian. Both are accented with Bowmore tweed in the centre console and door pockets. Each car will also come with a range of specific accessories to match the car, including a Bowmore tweed picnic blanket and a branded leather holdall. (Related: Aston Martin Vantage Roadster)

Each of the 18 Bowmore DBX owners will be invited to an exclusive Aston Martin Art of Living experience in Scotland.  Guests will travel to Edinburgh where they will be presented with their own special edition DBX, before embarking on a 170-mile road trip through the spectacular Scottish countryside, taking in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park before driving on to the ferry bound for Islay. Alongside a trip to Islay Woollen Mill and fine-dining throughout their three-night stay, owners will be treated to a private tour of the Bowmore Distillery. During this very special tour they will have the opportunity to hand-fill their own bottle of a 39 year-old, specially selected Bowmore straight from the cask. Power for the Bowmore Edition is the same as that of the standard DBX: a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, which develops 542bhp and 700Nm of torque. With drive sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox, it’ll cover 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and carry on to a top speed of 181mph.
