One-off Lamborghini SC20 speedster 17 | 12 | 2020

    LAMBORGHINI SQUADRA CORSE has lifted the wraps from its latest one-off project, the SC20. The bespoke open-top supercar has its roots on the Aventador SVJ, and is powered by  the naturally-aspirated, 759bhp, 6.5-litre V12 engine found in the donor car. (Related: Lamborghini Huracan STO)

    That power, and 720Nm of torque, is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

    While the SC20 is based on the mechanical core of the Aventador SVJ, clearly it’s bodywork bears little resemblance. Instead the SC20 is an all carbon fibre creation and draws  inspiration from other one-off roofless Lamborghinis, such as the Veneno Roadster and Aventador J.     At the front of the SC20, the front splitter and bumper intakes are inspired by the Huracan GT3 Evo racer, the car which Scot, and new Lamborghini factory driver Sandy Mitchell powered to the British GT Championship the season. However, the enormous engine intakes were lifted from straight from the track-only Essenza SCV12 hypercar.

    But — and it’s a BIG but — unlike the GT3 Evo racer and Essenza, the SC20 is road-legal. Related: Lambo's 830hp SCV12 hypercar)

    Riding on staggered centre-locking wheels, shod in Pirelli PZero rubber, there’s also a manually-adjustable carbon fibre rear wing which can be set in three positions to deliver either low, medium or high levels of downforce.

    The one-off SC20 also carries a unique paint scheme, one created specifically for the owner. In case you fancy copying it, it’s a Bianco Fu (in simple terms, white) base coat, with a Blu Cepheus highlight overlaid. You’ll also notice the owner has also chosen to keep several components, such as the bonnet vent and rear wing, in exposed carbon fibre. (Related: Driving four Lamborghinis in 24-hours)

    The cabin is also dominated by carbon fibre, which is applied to the centre console, steering wheel, door cards, firewall, and dashboard. The seats are also carbon fibre, but have been trimmed with Alcantara padding.

    “The SC20 is a combination of sophisticated engineering, Italian craftsmanship, sportiness and advanced design,” Lamborghini chief technical officer Maurizio Reggiani said. “It is also an example of applying our V12 engine and carbonfibre to a radical open-top vehicle that unmistakably carries the Lamborghini DNA.” (Related: Lambo Huracan Evo RWD Spyder)
