New £9m Scots Audi Terminal 26 | 10 | 2015

JOHN CLARK HAS opened its new £9 million Audi Terminal in Aberdeen. The new four-acre development at Balmoral Park on Wellington Road is the first of its kind in Scotland.

Sitting alongside the firm’s recently completed Mini and Nissan dealerships, the new facility is double the size of the previous Audi site and accommodates a new and used car showroom, plus a state-of-the-art 36-bay workshop. In addition, 200 parking spaces are available on site.

The 22 new car showroom showcases the latest range from Audi and includes a dedicated Audi Sport area for customers wishing to personalise the performance and body styling of their car.

The new facility is the group’s largest dealership and 22 new job roles have been created as a result, bringing the total staff number to 151. A large majority of the new positions are required to staff the aftersales department which will include 39 Audi Trained Technicians and 12 apprentices.

A room has been dedicated to an innovative Audi Configurator, which will be opened later in November and there are two customer handover rooms.

A stand-alone building houses up to 12 used vehicles, sales offices and customer hospitality: this is supplemented by an outdoor display of more than 120 used models.

The new workshop includes 33 ramps, two dedicated MoT Bays and an express fit tyre bay, all equipped with the latest Audi equipment and technology.

Visitors to the workshop are directed to the three-lane Drive-In, which is conveniently located next to service reception, where they are greeted by a concierge before being introduced to their service advisor. If pre-ordered, a courtesy car will be waiting in the Drive-In facility to ensure an effortless and seamless experience.

Customers who wish to wait while the work is carried out on their car can take advantage of the customer lounge facilities where they can either enjoy breakfast or lunch as part of the Express Service, as well as catch up with work in the business lounge.

Aberdeen Audi has also ensured that children can enjoy the new premises with the children’s play area, complete with PlayStation PS4 and bean bags.

“This is an extremely exciting time for the team at Aberdeen Audi," Alan Robertson, head of business for Aberdeen Audi said. "We all feel privileged to work in such superior facilities and are excited about welcoming customers into their new Audi Terminal.

“Anyone who visits the new site will immediately see the customer benefits, ample customer parking being the first obvious example, and with the Drive-In service, handover bays and exceptional lounge facilities we have great foundations to deliver both exceptional and memorable customer experiences.”

The new Audi Terminal was also welcomed by John Clark Motor Group business development director, Chris Clark.

“This has been a significant investment and build project for the group, but one that is justified in terms of the performance of the Aberdeen Audi business over recent years," he said.

"There has been extensive thought and consideration put into the design of the building to ensure we will meet, and hopefully exceed, customer and our colleague’s expectations to deliver the showroom of tomorrow.”

The opening continues a significant month for the group which was recently the third listed company in The Sunday Times Top Track 250. Top Track 250 ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies by sales which were record-breaking for a fifth consecutive year at JCMG with turnover up 28% to £604.1million in year end 2014.
