Scots group scoops top award 10 | 03 | 2016

SCOTLAND'S MOST INNOVATIVE car dealership group, Peter Vardy, has scooped a prestigious award at the Oscars of the automotive industry. The group's Edinburgh BMW and Mini outlet beat off stiff competition to win the Best Dealership prize at the annual AM Online Awards.

In front of a crowd of 1100 people at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, chief executive Peter Vardy accepted the accolade for a branch which was described by the judges as "a stand-out performer".

The Scottish company has been a regular winner at the awards, which are dedicated to acknowledging exemplary performance and innovation and turning the spotlight on to high achievers.

"This is another fantastic tribute to our team," Vardy CEO, Peter Vardy (pictured, left, receiving the award), said. "An AM Online award brings with it the respect of the industry as well as providing an independent mark of quality in our business."

Over the same period, Edinburgh has focused on achieving upper quartile performance in every department. As a result, it has outdone many of its peers, becoming a top performer in customer service, corporate sales, used car sales and parts, and driving local market penetration well past BMW and Mini’s national market shares.

The AM Online awards are the automotive management sector's most prized and keenly-contested competition. All the major names in the industry are represented, including Porsche, Land Rover, Jaguar, BMW, Vauxhall and MINI. Sponsors include Auto Trader, Shell UK Oil Products and Barclays Partner Finance.
