Seat unveils sporty Ateca FR 04 | 04 | 2017
SEAT HAS UNVEILED its new Ateca FR. Like other Seat FR models, the Ateca FR — which will enter Scottish showrooms in early summer, with prices starting around £22,500 — is a sporty-looking model.
Focused on design, the Ateca FR comes with a choice of turbocharged petrol and diesel units with power outputs of between 148bhp and 187bhp. Buyers can choose from manual or DSG-auto gearboxes. All-wheel drive is optional on all diesel engines and the most potent petrol.
But it’s the FR’s looks which set it apart visually, and give an indication of how the range-topping Ateca will look when it arrives later this year.
till then, the FR gets body-coloured wheel arches and side skirts with aluminium trim and a contrasting black spoiler, plus standard 18in or optional 19in alloys. The bumpers have also been redesigned with more prominent grilles and aluminium trim.
Inside the cabin, the Ateca FR gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a gloss black insert, Alcantara trim on the seats or optional leather and red stitching, plus aluminium door strips.
Set to be officially launched at the Barcelona Motor Show in May, UK pricing and specifications are yet to be confirmed.
