New Jaguar E-Pace teaser images 06 | 07 | 2017

JAGUAR HAS RELEASED three new teaser  images illustrating the rigorous testing regime being undertaken by the Jaguar E-Pace. The new compact SUV, designed by Jaguar’s Scots design boss Ian Callum, will be officially unveiled in production form on July 13, and will be priced from around £28,500 when it enters Scottish dealerships. Over the last two years, Jaguar has produced more than 150 prototypes in order to test its new SUV in a variety of scenarios. The car has completed more than 400 laps of the Nurburgring, while temperatures ranging from -40°C to 48°C have been braved.

Boasting a “sports car-derived all-wheel-drive technology”, the new E-Pace will include the full range of Jaguar’s new petrol and diesel Ingenium engines.

It’s understood the E-Pace will be based on the Range Rover Evoque’s LR-MS steel platform, and is likely to be produced at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria.

It’s also likely entry-level models of the E-Pace will be front-wheel drive. The bulk of the range will be available with four-wheel drive.

Not surprisingly, there will be less interior space than in the larger F-Face, and the newcomer will have a smaller boot. Expect though the E-Pace to have a slightly longer wheelbase than the Evoque, and to be more practical than its Jaguar Land Rover sibling.
