New £5m Porsche Centre for Scotland 30 | 05 | 2017

SCOTLAND’S MOST EXPANSIVE car dealership group, Peter Vardy, is to invest around £5 million in a new Porsche Centre in Perth. It will be the Edinburgh-based company’s second Porsche dealership, joining the current one in Aberdeen.

Peter Vardy has submitted a planning application to Perth and Kinross Council for the new dealership which will be located on a one-and-a-half acre site near the Broxden Roundabout just off the A9.

The facility, which will become the fourth Porsche dealership in Scotland — joining the two Sytner Centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh, plus Vardy’s existing Porsche Centre in Aberdeen (chief executive Peter Vardy, pictured below, at the opening of Porsche Centre in Aberdeen) — will feature a 13-car showroom, a workshop with eight car bays and an MOT bay, plus have outside space for around 25 used cars.

It’s also planned that the dealership will have a dedicated battery change bay in the workshop, and a new car handover bay at the edge of the showroom.

A first floor mezzanine would be home to a training suite, boardroom, staff canteen plus accounts and administration functions.

The plans also detail the dealership will create 29 full time permanent jobs.

Edinburgh-based Yeoman McAllister Architects are managing the £3.5m Porsche Centre Perth project.

The latest Peter Vardy expansion comes less than a month after it opened its new 70,000sq/ft CarStore showroom in Dundee.

Peter Vardy operates six Vauxhall volume dealerships in Aberdeen, Perth, Kirkcaldy, Edinburgh, Motherwell and Dalgety Bay (Fife).

In addition, it operates five prestige dealerships selling Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche or BMW-Mini vehicles.

The group is a regular automotive industry award winner and has been listed in the Sunday Times Best Company to Work For in Scotland compilation for a number of years.
