Di Resta sits out Brazilposted in F104 | 11 | 2010

BATHGATE'S PAUL di Resta will sit out Formula One Friday practice in Brazil tomorrow after Force India bosses decided they needed to give as much time as possible to race drivers Adrian Sutil and Tonio Liuzzi.

With the Silverstone-based team in a tight battle with Williams for sixth in the constructors' championship, the team is eager to ensure its two race drivers have no excuse this weekend.

"We have some development parts to test and with the championship positions as tight as they are, we've decided to give the track time to the race drivers," said a team spokesperson.

Di Resta though, who has driven the Force India car at eight grands prix circuits this year, was disappointed to sit-out the opportunity to drive at Interlagos.

"I've been looking forward to driving in Brazil for some time," the 24-year-old Scot, who is strongly tipped to take Italian Liuzzi's race seat next year, said today.

"I spent some time on the team's simulator last week learning the track, and everything went well. But while it's disappointing for me, I can fully understand the team's decision as there's only a three-point gap lead over Williams.

"Hopefully though I'll get in the car for the final practice session of the year in Abu Dhabi. That would be a terrific way to finish the season."
