Red Bull dominates FP1posted in F105 | 11 | 2010

RED BULL led the opening free practice ahead of this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix, but it was Sebastian Vettel (pictured) who posted the fastest time ahead of team-mate Mark Webber. World championship leader Fernando Alonso could only manage 13th in his Ferrari.

The session was dominated by the Red Bull duo, though the McLaren of Lewis Hamilton was the only other driver to duck under the 1min 13sec barrier.

Vettel's fastest time of 1:12.328s was 0.482s quicker than Webber, who starts Sunday's penultimate round of the championship 11 points behind Alonso, and 0.517s ahead of Hamilton. The second McLaren of Jenson Button was fourth.

The two Ferraris though struggled with Alonso, who parked his car out on the circuit with minutes of the session remaining after concerns about his engine, only managing a 1:14.246. Team-mate Felipe Massa was even slower with a 1:14.267.
