Mini launches red & white WRC carposted in RSCOT02 | 02 | 2011

IT'S A MINI, but not as you know it! This is the first site of the all-new Prodrive-developed Mini WRC car in its red and white livery; previous images have shown the car in a yellow and black camouflage.

Unveiled today in Monte Carlo, the latest development version of its new Countryman WRC is around 95% complete and the changes from this S2000 version to the full WRC-spec car will be minor. Power for the stunning Mini WRC comes from a 1.6-litre turbocharged BMW Motorsport engine.

“In every step of development, the engine feels stronger and the dotted line on the graph looks encouraging," Mini driver, and former Colin McRae protege Kris Meeke, explained.

Meeke, who contested the last two RallyScotland IRC events with Peugeot, will drive the Mini in six WRC events this year, starting in Sardinia
