First sight of facelifted 1-series 17 | 12 | 2010
THE FACELIFTED BMW 1-series coupĂ© and convertible will be launched at the Detroit Motor Show next month. The tweaks to the range are specifically based at both ends of the cars; there's revised headlights and a new l-shaped rear-light cluster, plus a new splitter that introduces what BMW calls an ‘air curtain’ around the front wheels.
The splitter though isn't just cosmetic; it reduces drag and improves CO2 emissions, though annoyingly BMW has yet to issue any revised figures for the car’s line-up which will appear in Scottish showrooms.
There's also a few tweaks to the trim options. There's two new colours — Vermillon Red and Marrakesh Brown — available on both hard-top and soft-top and the wheel range has been extended to include a 17in five-spoke design, a 17in ‘turbine spoke’ and V-spoked 18in alloys.
