Honda refreshes the Civic 12 | 10 | 2010

JUST DAYS after Fifer Gordon Shedden helped Honda to the team and manufacturers' titles in the British Touring Car Championship, the Civic is to get subtle exterior changes. The tweaks include a new front grille which takes inspiration from the Type R hot hatch model.

Production of the new-look model will start in Swindon in November before rolling out across Honda's Scottish dealership network. And if you're able to wait, the new update also includes a range of new alloy wheels now fitted as standard, with individual designs and sizes dependent on the variant chosen.

The Civic five-door range in 1.4-litre SE and Si, plus 1.8-litre SE trim levels get new 16in alloys, while the five-door 1.8-litre Si receives new 17in rims. The Type S model, the 1.4-litre sports-inspired Civic, receives colour-coded sideskirts and revised 16-inch alloys.

And while a new colour called ‘ionised bronze’, has also been added as a paint option across the Civic range, the Civic SE and ES trim also gets half fabric and Alcantara, while Si is now half leather and Alcantara with heated front seats.
