New efficient diesel for Audi Q7 27 | 10 | 2010

AUDI HAS slotted a new engine into its entry level 3.0-litre TDI . Based on a de-tuned version of the previous model, the 2011 engine is less powerful but more efficient.

Output has been cut by 36bhp to 201bhp, while the 332lb/ft of torque is a reduction of 74lb/ft. Alterations to its turbocharger and camshafts, as well as the addition of a stop-start system, give the new Q7 attractive consumption figures of 39mpg and 189g/km CO2 emissions.

While no prices have yet been announced for the UK, in Germany it's priced 51,800 euro (approx £45,375). The new Q7 is expected to enter Audi's Scottish showrooms in the second-half of next year.
