JAPAN'S NEWEST luxury manufacturer Infiniti may be poised to open a dealership in Glasgow, but it chose London this weekend to show its latest concept car, the Infiniti Essence. The 592bhp luxury hybrid coupé — glimpsed here being eased into the showroom — took pride of place for the opening of Infiniti’s newest Centre, 77 Piccadilly.

At 4.7m long, the two-door Essence comes complete with its own bespoke set of luggage courtesy of a unique tie-up with one of the best-known names in luxury good, Louis Vuitton.

But while the concept was the centre of attention, the production model on which it's based — the all-new M Line – is now available in V6 petrol and V6 diesel forms, with a hybrid version following next spring. Prices start at £35,150.
