Alfa to launch 'baby 8C' 03 | 02 | 2011

ALFA ROMEO are set to steal much of the headlines at the Geneva Motor Show by unveiling a new small, high-performance, coupe concept; already it's been labelled as a ‘baby 8C’. Prices for the mid-engined concept — rumoured to be badged 4C — are expected to cost more than £35,000.

Though very few details are known about the concept, it's thought the 4C will be built around a carbonfibre monocoque, allied to aluminium subframes front and rear. It's also expected the newcomer will use the transversely mounted powertrain lifted from the Alfa Giulietta. Don't rule out highly-tuned versions of the acclaimed MultiAir engine also joining the 4C's line-up.
