Alfa reveals new 4C stunner 02 | 03 | 2011

ONE OF THE undoubted stars of the Geneva Motor Show could be found on the Alfa Romeo stand: the 4C Concept. and the good news is the Italian company has already confirmed a production version of this exciting sports car will be in Scottish dealerships next year.

Powered by a 1.7-litre turbocharged petrol engine, as used in the Giulietta, and using a twin dry-clutch transmission, the 4C delivers 200bhp-plus. Alfa says the mid-engined two-seater will cover the 0-62mph sprint in “under five seconds” and accelerate on to a top speed of more than 155mph. so as well as being a serious headturner, it's going to be fast too.

With a wheelbase of under 2.4 metres, the 4C is likely to be the first of a family of small Fiat group sports cars which are expected to appear over the next few years; there's also talk of a standalone Abarth version.
