Smart dazzles with Nightorange 14 | 03 | 2011

SUNGLASSES WOULD be an ideal optional extra with the new limited edition Nightorange Smart Fortwo city car. Featuring vivid orange paint with contrasting black 15in alloys, door mirror surrounds and radiator grille — Smart’s trademark tridion safety cell is also painted black — the Nightorange will be limited to just 235 examples. Prices start at £9995 across Smart's Scottish dealership network.

Available in either coupe or cabriolet form, buyers can also choose from two 1.0-litre petrol engines, both mated to a five-speed automatic 'box: the 84bhp turbocharged version or the 71bhp micro hybrid drive. Smart claims the 'green' version returns 65.7 mpg.

Inside the cabin there's black leather and fabric seats, highlighted by contrasting orange stitching and sports stripes, plus a leather steering wheel and gear lever. The interior is also punctuated by further matte black touches.

Smart’s ‘lowline’ USB/AUX interface — with optional ‘highline’ version available, which adds navigation via a touchscreen display, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity — is part of the standard equipment.

“The Smart Fortwo Nightorange edition is a real head-turner and a car that will truly light up the lives of owners with its stunning on road presence and low running costs,” Mercedes MD Gary Savage said.
