April launch for Renault Twingo R.S. 15 | 02 | 2012

RENAULT'S NEW FACELIFTED Twingo R.S and Gordini R.S. will enter showrooms across Scotland in April. Developed by RenaultSport, both models have received the same basic styling as the standard Renault Twingo, which was launched in January.

Both models boast a deeper front bumper than the standard car, and incorporate an “F1-style blade”. Nip round to the back and you'll notice the addition of a tailgate-mounted spoiler, rear wheel arch extensions and a diffuser incorporated into the rear bumper.

The similarities between the two RenaultSport models continue inside where there's yellow stitching and gloss black inserts in the dashboard. There's also white detailing on the steering wheel, seat backs, dial surrounds and heater controls.

New Renault Scenic starts at £18,325

Both models are powered by Renault's 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine which pumps out 133bhp. A sport chassis is fitted as standard.

The new Twingo R.S. is — as you would expect — cleaner than the model it replaces, with a CO2 figure of 150g/km, a saving of 3.2%. It's also more fuel efficient, returning 43.5mpg, a saving of 3%.

While Renault has still to announce pricing, we do know the Twingo Gordini R.S. gets 17in diamond-effect black alloy wheels, leather trim, climate control and twin body stripes in addition to the standard spec on the R.S..

New Renault Twingo starts at £10,350
