Porsche plans Cayenne facelift 10 | 02 | 2014

PORSCHE IS PLANNING a major facelift for its Cayenne SUV. When they're introduced later this year, expect to see subtle styling tweaks to both the nose and the rear-end.

It's expected the tail will benefit from gaining a similar look to the rear of the new Macan, which means slightly slimmer light clusters and fitted with recessed covers.  Expect also to see a redesigned rear bumper.

At the front, the bonnet is also expected to be re-profiled and the front bumper is believed to be a little deeper than that of the current model. The main grille and side intakes are also understood to have been subtly reshaped.

There will also be significant changes under the bonnet. The facelifted line-up will include the new-generation hybrid system — first seen on the Panamera last year — plus a new 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine.

The current Cayenne's replacement — the MkIII due late 2016 — will will be based on Volkswagen Group's next-generation MSB platform.

Not only is it currently under development by Porsche, but will also be used for the forthcoming Bentley SUV, which will launch in 2016.
