Vardy offers retailers free online platform 18 | 03 | 2020

SCOTS CAR DEALERSHIP group Peter Vardy is offering its free installation, allied to three months’ free use of its end-to-end online car retail platform, SilverBullet. The Glasgow company’s initiative is a bid to make the sector’s businesses more resilient to the impact of Covid-19 coronavirus.

In the wake of the Government’s health advice around social distancing and the avoidance of “non-essential travel”, it’s expected car dealerships will see a slump in footfall and consumer appetite. Vardy believes ecommerce solutions are a must for any operator in the coming months.

As finances will be stretched for many businesses, SilverBullet will not charge anything for this three-month trial period, as it offers the chance for retailers to operate new online selling. Only non-SilverBullet supplier charges will be applicable.

“With top dealership groups joining SilverBullet already in 2020, the platform is proving it’s worth in not only helping our clients to trade through this difficult period, but increasing the number of deals generated on their websites and increase the margin of those deals,” a statement from SilverBullet said.

The company has collated data from the platform to help demonstrate the platform’s power and illustrate how it’s already helping clients generate better returns from their websites.

In September last year, Peter Vardy revealed it expects to complete 50% of its car sales online by 2023 after crediting a focus on used car sales and aftersales for profit growth in its 2018 financial results.
