Button flies the Union flagposted in F117 | 02 | 2016

JENSON BUTTON HAS announced he will revert to his original Formula 1 helmet colours for the 2016 season: the decision follows a fan poll.

In January, the 2009 world champ asked fans to choose between his design built around the colours of the Union Jack that he raced with in the early part of 2014, and his 2015 layout which is predominantly red and white.

Following the death of his dad, John, in 2014, the McLaren racer had revealed a special pink helmet in tribute, commemorating his signature pink shirt.

With in-season helmet changes banned from the beginning of the 2015, F1 drivers are limited to a single core design for the full campaign.

"Here we are ladies and gentleman, my new old helmet livery for 2016!," Button said today on his Instagram account. "Hope you like it because you chose it!"
