Raikkonen tops final day of testposted in F125 | 02 | 2016

FERRARI'S KIMI RAIKKONEN (pictured) ended the fourth and final day of the opening FormulaOne test at Barcelona topping the timesheets. But ominously for the Maranello team, rival Mercedes racked up a whopping 185 laps of the Circuit de Catalunya.

Raikkonen set a fastest time of 1m23.477s after bolting on a set of new ultra-soft Pirelli tyres just before lunch. It was the third time in the four days that a Ferrari had been fastest at the end of the day, Nico Hulkenberg's Force India being fastest on day three.

Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat — using the same tyre compound — was second fastest today, 0.816s behind the Finn.

Mercedes duo Hamilton and Nico Rosberg concentrated on long runs with their 2016 car, fitted today with its new nose. While Rosberg managed 86 laps, three-time world champ Hamilton logged 99 laps.

Both drivers did all of their running on the medium tyre with Rosberg seventh, just over one tenth ahead of Hamilton in eighth.

McLaren-Honda had a miserable day. Following a coolant leak early in the morning, team was unable to get car back out, leaving Fernando Alonso to end the day with only three laps. The Spaniard didn't set a time.
