F-Pace shape revealed 04 | 09 | 2015

JAGUAR HAS RELEASED the first official image of the all-new F-Pace which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show later on September 14.

Penned by Scot Ian Callum, the SUV's side profile reveals the overall look and proportions have stayed true to the well-received C-X17 concept of 2013, which was the first time Jaguar went public with its intentions to launch an SUV.

Understandably, Jaguar is remaining coy about details, merely confirming it will follow the XE and XF in being based on the same modular aluminium platform and be manufactured alongside the saloons at its Solihull plant.

We already know the F-Pace's underpinnings will feature technology from the F-Type sports car, aimed primarily improving the SUV’s ride and handling abilities and includes elements such as a torque vectoring system.

Sharing its overall design and shape with the C-X17 concept car unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in 2013, the F-Pace is set to be almost identical in size to the concept, meaning it's likely to be 4.72m long – 400mm longer than a Range Rover Evoque – and 1.65m tall.

While the staple engines in the F-Pace are expected to be the new four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel units which feature in the Jaguar XE saloon and Land Rover Discovery Sport, we should also expect a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol and, possibly, a supercharged 5.0-litre petrol V8.

Poised to target the Porsche Macan and BMW X4, the new Jaguar is expected to start around £35,000, and stretch to around £50,000.
