Arnold Clark praises graduates 21 | 12 | 2016

SCOTS CAR GIANT Arnold Clark has hosted an end-of-year graduation event at its GTG Training venue in Glasgow to celebrate the achievements of over 150 trainees.

Attended by 300 people from across the UK, including friends and families of the newly qualified trainees, apprentices were recognised for their achievements.

The event also recognised the service managers and advisors who either completed in-house training or courses accredited by the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI).

“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I left school and the opportunity came up to take on an apprenticeship with Arnold Clark,” graduate apprentice, Fraser Black (pictured), said.

“I am so glad it did. There was a lot to learn and it was a lot of hard work, but it’s been really worthwhile. I had fantastic mentors throughout the process and I am now working at a garage where there is a real team spirit. I look forward to gaining more qualifications to progress my career.”

The apprentices’ achievements were praised by Stewart MacAulay, Arnold Clark aftersales director.

“I am very proud to see so many of our trainees qualifying at the graduation,” MacAulay said. “It’s really a great testament to all of the work and commitment they’ve put into their studies. They are an incredible asset to Arnold Clark and I wish them all the best of luck for the future.”

Arnold Clark Automobiles, which was established in 1954 by Sir Arnold Clark, now employs more than 10,000 staff nationwide, with over 200 branches located in Scotland and England. Last year the company generated a turnover of £3.4 billion.
