Skoda previews VisionS concept  02 | 02 | 2016

    THIS IS OUR first glimpse of how Skoda's new, large SUV is likely to look. The official design sketches released today of the VisionS concept preview the SUV which will makes its debut at Geneva next month.

    Featuring a prominent Skoda grille at the front with raked back headlights, a large lower grille with side air intakes and a long bonnet, the VisionS concept comes with three rows of seats offering space for six passengers and their luggage.

    The concept is 4700mm long, 1910mm wide, and 1680mm tall, which makes it lower than the Kia Sorento. It's rakish looks are further enhanced by the fact the roofline dips towards the rear, ending in a lip spoiler.

    While Skoda is remaining tight-lipped at the moment, it's expected the SUV will be badged Kodiaq, with prices starting at around £24,000. The model will go on-sale in Scottish dealerships early next year.

    Worth mentioning that the current rivals from Kia and Hyundai, start at £28,795 and £31,845 respectively.

    The Skoda SUV will be powered by the current four-cylinder engines found in the Superb. That means an entry-level 1.6-litre turbodiesel, while a diesel-electric hybrid version is also likely to be offered, plus four-wheel drive will be optional on most models.
