Renault reveals facelifted Clio 13 | 06 | 2016

RENAULT HAS REVEALED its facelifted Clio. The Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa rival will reach Scotland in October, and boasts a new diesel engine and subtle exterior and interior changes.

It’s expected an updated version of the Clio RS hot hatchback will also arrive before the end of the year.

With the next generation Clio not due till 2018, the latest facelift version updates the current generation which went on-sale in Scotland in 2012.

Prices won’t be confirmed till later in the summer, but the facelift version is expected to add around £300 to the current entry price of £11,145.

Not surprisingly the facelifted version receives very little changes: it’s already one of the best-looking and packages in its class.

Look carefully, and you’ll spot a new front grille designed to accentuate the car's width, new LED headlights, and a reprofiled rear bumper. Part of the design philosophy of to make the Clio look more like the latest Megane.

Inside the new cabin, changes have again been restricted. New chrome trim and more soft-touch plastics have been introduced, and buyers can now choose from three infotainment systems.

In addition to R&Go, a smartphone application that uses your mobile phone's screen as an infotainment portal — which is fitted to entry-level models — there's also R-Link Evolution and Media Nav Evolution: both offer integrated satellite navigation on a central touchscreen display.

Front parking sensors and a reversing camera have been added to some models, while range-topping models get a new autonomous parking function.

And while the facelift model carries over the current whole Clio engine range, there’s now also the edition of a new 1.5-litre diesel. The existing TCe 120 petrol engine now also gets the option of a six-speed manual gearbox.
