VW offers £2000 saving on new Golf 01 | 06 | 2016

VOLKSWAGEN IS OFFERING Scottish buyers a new improved finance offer of £2000 deposit contribution and 5.4% APR across the bulk of the Golf line-up until June 30.

The offer applies to private customers who take out a Personal Contract Purchase plan through Volkswagen Financial Services, applies across the Golf hatch family. The offer applies to all Golf models, with the exception of Golf GTE, Golf GTI Clubsport, Golf GTI Clubsport S and e-Golf models.

Depending on trim and model choice the VW Golf is available in three- or five-door versions while the majority offer a choice of manual or automatic DSG gearboxes.

The range starts with the entry-level Golf S and rises in stages to the Golf GTI – this year celebrating its 40th anniversary – and incomparable Golf R.

Every Golf offers a high level of standard equipment and includes for instance, as a minimum, the Composition Media system which boasts a 6.5-inch colour touchscreen, Bluetooth telephone and audio connection, car information display, DAB digital radio receiver and CD player.

The Golf also has a plethora of standard safety features including ABS (Anti-lock Braking System); ESC (Electronic Stability Control); and ASR (traction control).

The Golf has driver’s and front passenger’s airbags and a curtain airbag system for front and rear passengers.  Front seat side impact airbags and a driver’s knee airbag add additional peace of mind, as does the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System.

In addition, the Golf includes an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function that is especially useful when stopped on an incline.  Fuel efficiency is enhanced by the automatic Stop/Start system.

The Golf S is available from just £17,625, and the Match Edition (pictured), from £20,690, offers a variety of extra standard equipment including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC); driver profile selection; and parking sensors.

The Performance Golfs start with the GT Edition, from £24,215, and the R-Line Edition, from £25,210, both of which offer sports styling with 18-inch alloy wheels as well as a panoramic sunroof.  The Golf GTI, from £27,495, and its diesel cousin, the GTD, from £26,995 RRP OTR, are genuinely iconic hot hatches that need no introduction, or explanation. Meanwhile the all-wheel-drive 4MOTION Golf R, from £31,685, rounds out the broad Golf range.

Many models come with a choice of engines which all include energy-saving BlueMotion Technology. The range starts with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that has an emissions figure of 99g/km and combined fuel consumption of 65.7 mpg.

The petrol offering continues with a 1.4TSI unit offering 125PS, a 1.4TSI with ACT cylinder deactivation and 150PS on tap, and a 2.0TSI engine that is available with outputs of 220PS, 265PS, 300PS or 310PS.

The three diesel engines begin with a 1.6-TDI unit that has an output of 110PS and has a combined cycle figure from 70.6mpg.  The 2.0TDI is available with either 150PS or 184PS. The combined fuel economy figures range from 58.9mpg to 67.3mpg.
