Scots couple turn new Leaf at wedding 04 | 05 | 2016

A SCOTS COUPLE’S wedding day was made even more special after Nissan loaned them their dream car and gave it a wild makeover.

Dundee couple Elinor Chalmers and Steve Dent tied the knot at Edinburgh Zoo, and wanted their ceremony to reflect their twin passions; animals and electric motoring.

After approaching Nissan and asking to borrow the world’s most popular electric vehicle, the Leaf, the Japanese manufacturer was happy to oblige. And to help make the day extra special, Nissan applied a colourful and eye-catching full body wrap inspired by the wedding’s zoological theme.

The wrap, which was designed by the newlyweds, featured the Edinburgh Zoo’s famous giant pandas and daily penguin parade.

“How many people can say they’ve turned up for their wedding in a car like that?,” beaming bride Elinor smiled. “It’s something we’ll remember forever and I don’t think our wedding guests will forget it either.

“I currently own the 24kWh Nissan Leaf, and that’s why the new 30kWh model was my dream wedding car.

“The Leaf is a car that always attracts attention and people are always coming up to you with questions about electric cars, but it’s never turned more heads than it did on Sunday.”
