Arnold Clark takes on MG 11 | 10 | 2016

    SCOTS CAR GIANT Arnold Clark has added MG to its portfolio at its site in Rutherglen. The dealership will retailing the MG3 supermini and all-new MG GS models.

    The appointment comes just days after MG announced East Port Garage in Dunfermline has also taken on the marque,

    According to MG Motors, the decision by Arnold Clark to represent the brand is “further evidence of the manufacturer’s re-emergence as a serious player in the competitive volume car market”.

    According to SMMT figures for September, MG sales topped the 1000 mark; signalling its best ever performance since 2009.

    “We’re really excited about taking on the MG franchise in Scotland,” Gavin McKenzie, MG franchise manager at Arnold Clark, said.

    “This will give drivers the chance to enjoy this great brand, which is seeing a welcomed resurgence in the market. From the MG3 supermini to the family-friendly MG GS SUV, we can’t wait to display the latest models in our showroom.”

    The expansion was welcomed by Matthew Cheyne, head of sales and marketing at MG Motor UK.

    “As one of the UK’s leading car retailers, we’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Arnold Clark to our national dealer network,” he said.

    “Our partnership with Arnold Clark, who are one of the biggest and most well- managed dealer groups in the country, is a significant move for MG, as it provides a strong retail platform for future growth and shows the MG brand and product range can attract even the largest retailers.”
