New Lexus LS 500h flagship hybrid 15 | 02 | 2017

LEXUS HAS CONFIRMED its new LS 500h, a hybrid version of the company’s latest flagship saloon, will be revealed at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

Utilising Lexus’s Multi Stage Hybrid System, which mates a 295bhp 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and four-speed automatic gearbox to an electric motor that drives a CVT transmission, the LS 500h will go on-sale at Scottish dealerships towards the end of 2017.

The new Lexus flagship, which will deliver a combined 354bhp — the same as is expected from the LS — is  5235mm long, 1450mm high and 1900mm wide, the same as the non-hybrid LS.

However, compared to the previous LS, the new model sits about 15mm lower. Just as significantly, the 2017 model’s bonnet and boot are 30 and 41mm lower respectively.

Prices for the new LS range will be confirmed closer to the on-sale date, and are expected to carry a small increase on the £71,995 of the current LS.
