Top employer award for Lookers 14 | 02 | 2017

LOOKERS HAS BEEN certified by the Top Employers Institute for its exceptional employee offerings. Lookers is the parent company of Glasgow-based Taggarts, and in addition operates Audi in Ayr, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hamilton and Stirling.

This latest accolade for the group marks Lookers — led by Scots CEO Andy Bruce (pictured) — out as the only motor retailer to be recognised with the certification.

Across the rest of the UK, seven companies in the automotive sector have received the certification, including carmakers Bentley and Vauxhall, tyre maker Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK, leasing firm LeasePlan UK, parts supplier Valeo and mobility provider Alphabet UK.

The Top Employers Institute recognises companies that provide excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organisation and those that strive to continuously improve and optimise employment practices that benefit people across the business.

“The Top Employers United Kingdom 2017 Certification is a great honour,” Andrew Stephenson, Lookers people director said. “We are delighted to be officially recognised as a leading employer and provide ‘excellence in employee conditions’.

“Our people from across the business do amazing things every day and this award is recognition of their commitment of being excellent and delivering an outstanding customer retail experience.”

The award comes as Lookers announced a comprehensive package of benefits for their people including one full year’s paid maternity leave, two years critical illness cover and enhanced holiday packages from year one of employment.
