McLaren 720S debuts in Scotland 14 | 03 | 2017
THE ALL-NEW McLAREN 720S was one of the stars of the Geneva Motor Show media day last week; and less than seven days later, the car made its UK debut at a special invite-only gathering at McLaren Glasgow.
The successor to the 650S, the new 720S Super Series model was centre of attraction as around 60 invited guests gathered at the McLaren Glasgow showroom. (Related: Roadtest — McLaren 570GT)
“It was a great evening,” Steve Mitchell, McLaren Glasgow sales executive, explained. “Over the whole day, we had around 55-60 people come in to view the car.
“Amongst those, we had some buyers who have already placed deposits for the new McLaren 720S come down from Dundee and Aberdeen.
“We were the first McLaren Centre to have the 720S. From Glasgow, the car was taken to Manchester, Birmingham, and the other sites in the UK before heading off to mainland Europe.”
McLaren Glasgow is the currently the No1 McLaren Retailer in the World.
While the dealership understandably wouldn’t reveal how many deposits it has taken in total for the new £208,000 supercar, it’s understood five new buyers placed deposits on the evening having finally been able to see the car in the flesh.
