Renault reveals Zoe R110 prices  19 | 03 | 2018

RENAULT HAS BOOSTED the power of its all-electric Zoe for 2018. In addition to new customisation and finish options, there’s also a new more powerful electric motor. Available to order now from Scottish dealerships, the new Zoe R110 starts at £18,420 including the government's plug-in car grant. A less-powerful Q90 model is still available. Cleverly, the new electric motor is not only the same size and weight as the previous R90 powertrain, but it occupies the same footprint in the ZOE’s chassis. Importantly though, it’s more powerful, delivering 80kW compared to the 68kW of the previous motor. However there’s no increase in range, with the 2018 model still being limited to offers the same 186 'real world' miles.

And though torque remains at 225Nm for the most powerful Zoe, it now does deliver 107bhp. Renault says that while the changes don’t affect low speed performance, the noticeable gains are on faster roads where the R110 is “more comfortable”.

Checked against the stopwatch, the new version is two seconds faster from 50mph to 75mph, and will cover the 0-62mph ‘sprint’ in 11.9 seconds.

The revised Zoe range now also offers Android Auto connectivity. This works alongside Renault's updated R-Link Evolution infotainment system. Significantly, Renault has also simplified the Zoe range. Just two trim levels — Dynamique Nav and Signature Nav — will be offered for the 2018 model.

The entry-level model gets rear parking sensors,  auto lights and wipers, plus voice-controlled TomTom nav, while the range-topping Signature Nav adds heated front seats, a reversing camera and a Bose stereo.

And if purple’s your colour, Dynamique Nav trim is now available with a new dark metallic purple paint colour. If that’s not enough, it can also be matched with a purple interior trim pack. Opt for this, and you also get a violet satin finish on the gear lever, air vents,  dashboard and speakers.

Prices? The entry-level Zoe Dynamique Nav R110 costs £18,240, with the Signature Nav rising to £20,670. The lesser-powered Q90 (fitted with quick charge, and available in the same two specs) costs £19,170 and £21,420 respectively.
