FERRARI HAS LIFTED the wraps from its 2016 Formula One challenger. The SF-16H was revealed during an online launch with team principal Maurizio Arrivabene, technical director James Allison and drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen revealing the Scuderia's new challenger.

What's instantly noticeable is the car has more white than in previous years, predominantly on the engine cover and front wing. Aerodynamicists have introduced a  a shorter nose compared to last year's car, and the engine cover appears to be tighter and slimmer.

"I think this year, we need to push a bit more," Arrivabene said. "We would like to fight until the end for the championship. I knowit is not going to be easy, because our competitors are not sleeping, but we are committed to do our best."

Last season Vettel powered his Ferrari to three grand prix wins, and it's clear the Maranello giant will look to push Mercedes even further this season.

Ferrari finished 275 points behind Mercedes in the Constructors' Championship, while Vettel was 103 points behind Lewis Hamilton in the drivers' standings.

"Back in 2013, Ferrari was not at the right level," Allison said. "We've worked very hard. Last year was a decent step forward and we hope this car will be another good step forward to make us properly competitive.

"We have improved across the board. All our hopes are in this car, and we can't wait to see it on the track."
