John Clark expands portfolio 06 | 11 | 2015

SCOTS CAR GROUP John Clark has added three new manufacturers to its growing portfolio. The three — Renault, Dacia and Peugeot — will be located in the former Audi showrooms in Aberdeen, and represent an investment of more than £500,000 for the group.

Work is currently underway to ensure the buildings meet the corporate interior and exterior design standards stipulated by the manufacturers. It's expected the three showrooms will be open to the pubic early next year.

In addition to representing the cars for Renault, Dacia and Peugeot, the group will also represent the light commercial vehicles available from the French manufacturers.

Refurbishment of the sites will allow for 10 Renault models and three Dacia vehicles to be displayed in one showroom,  and eight Peugeot’s in what was the former Approved Used Car Showroom for Audi.

In addition to Renault, Dacia and Peugeot, the site development will include a used car facility operating under the trading name of Clark Motorchoice, which is already operational in Edinburgh. This business will offer used vehicles to John Clark Motor Group approved standards and a six month warranty cover.

A 15-bay workshop, one MOT bay and a wheel alignment bay — all of which will be operated by manufacturer trained technicians —  are also included on the site.

JCMG has created 53 new jobs at the new site, and the company — which now employs more than 1200 people — is currently recruiting staff.

“Aberdeen plays a significant role in our group success and the latest moves with Peugeot, Dacia and Renault will build on the success through the diversity of cars we offer," Chris Clark, group business development director, said.

“We are putting significant investment toward developing and refurbishing what was our Audi facility on Abbotswell Road for these three new brands, and we look forward to welcoming new customers and current owners in the new year.

“It’s an exciting time for us as we Introduce Renault, Dacia and Peugeot to JCMG, signifying another step in our expansion strategy.

"The new team members will be key in delivering high standards of customer service and we will invest in training to ensure they are equipped to do just that.”

Andrew Simpson, currently managing JCMG’s Nissan dealerships, will become franchise director for the Peugeot, Dacia and Renault suite.

“I’m delighted to be taking on an added role at JCMG in overseeing the new site," he said, and I look forward to recruiting and building a new team with the aim of making the new brands successful.”
