Nissan X-Trail gets new diesel 22 | 11 | 2016

    NISSAN HAS FITTED new more powerful diesel engine to its flagship X-Trail crossover. Available to order from Scottish dealers now, with prices stating at £29,095, the new 2.0-litre unit will arrive with customers early in 2017.

    The new engine has an output of 177PS, compared to 130PS for the existing 1.6-litre engine, with 380Nm of torque.

    A new automatic Xtronic gearbox, linked to a four-wheel drive transmission, alongside the choice of six-speed manual, two-wheel drive.

    In manual 2WD format, the new engine will return 50.5mpg, while in auto 2WD and 4WD, Nissan says it will return 50.5mpg and 47.1mpg respectively.

    “The new flagship Nissan X-Trail is a crossover that’s focused on delivering what consumers need,” Guillaume Cartier, senior vice president for sales and marketing, Nissan Europe, said.

    "Offering 4WD linked to an automatic transmission for the first time, it’s a significant enhancement to the already strong X-Trail range. It’s also a compelling upgrade to our already successful 1.6-litre diesel model.”
