SCOTLAND’S LARGEST CAR dealership group, Arnold Clark, will give 270 new apprentices aged between 16-19 the opportunity to join it this summer. (Related: Arnold Clark praises graduates)

The new apprenticeship programme will give the ambitious youngsters the opportunity to learn skills and gain a recognised qualification in the motor industry.

“As Scotland’s largest privately-owned company, this move demonstrates our continued commitment to the apprenticeship scheme and to creating new jobs for Scotland and the UK,” Suzanne Sherry, the dealer group’s apprentice recruitment manager, said.

“We are very keen to introduce a younger workforce to the Arnold Clark family of already more than 11,000 staff.”

In addition to receiving on-the-job training at an Arnold Clark branch, the new apprentices will attend a number of weeklong training blocks at one of Arnold Clark’s GTG training centres.

Each apprentice is assigned a mentor who guides them through the three-year training programme.
