Peter Vardy makes classic move 15 | 02 | 2016

SCOTS-BASED DEALER group Peter Vardy, has launched a classic car dealership, Peter Vardy Heritage. The new dealership, which is located just south of Sunderland, stocks more than 20 classic cars, priced between £10,000 and £250,000. One of the stars is this left-hand drive, 1961 Porsche 356 B 1600 Coupe (pictured).

It is also providing a full Heritage service, with a dedicated concierge department offering personalised, expert advice on investment, value creation, restoration, storage, maintenance and transportation.

The dealership is being run by Paul Cummings, who worked for Sir Peter Vardy for 16 years as dealer principal in the company’s Rolls Royce and Bentley, Ferrari Maserati and Jaguar franchises.

"This is an exciting new departure for the Peter Vardy Group, which is one of the most trusted names in the automotive industry," Cummings said.

"The Heritage team has assembled an absolutely fantastic collection of truly great cars, backed by the ultimate VIP service to ensure that every detail of our clients' motoring desire is fulfilled.

“Classic cars not only offer great investment benefits, but can be driven and enjoyed without affecting their value. You could buy a classic car for £70,000 and in five years’ time it could be worth £145,000, plus you’ve had five years of fun driving it. Over the past decade classic cars have been one of the best performing investments with an average return of up to 469%.”

The Peter Vardy Group has a long and distinguished heritage in its own right. In an enduring history of three generations spanning more than 90 years, the Vardy family has built enviable relationships with iconic marques including Aston Martin, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Ferrari and Maserati.

“I have always been passionate about iconic cars, and starting a heritage arm to the business has been something I have wanted to do for the last few years," CEO, Peter Vardy said.

"I’m really excited to see where we can take it as it not only provides our current customer base with a completely new and unique offering, but will open up the Vardy name to a whole new client base right across the UK.”

The group employs more than 750 people in a portfolio of sites from Aberdeen to Glasgow, and operates the largest Jaguar Land Rover retailer in the UK. It has top quartile performance with Porsche, leads Vauxhall network profitability and remains highly profitable with BMW and Mini.
