Peter Vardy brings classics to Scotland 26 | 09 | 2016

ONE OF THE MOST exciting portfolios of classic cars has arrived in Scotland after Peter Vardy, the country’s most innovative car dealership group, relocated its unique Heritage Collection to the heart of its Glasgow operations.

The Collection, a whole new world of exclusive, iconic, motoring investments, has been given a special space in the Peter Vardy Group's CarStore in Hillington, close to excellent motorway links with the rest of the UK.

In a finely-tuned logistical operation, 18 examples of international motoring excellence worth in excess of £2 million were moved in covered and protected transporters from their previous home in Co Durham.

The Heritage Collection pavilion at the CarStore will be separately branded, in keeping with the pedigree of the cars, and there are plans to increase the stock to between 35 to 40 vehicles in the immediate future.

"We are now up and running with an absolutely fantastic collection of truly great cars, backed by the ultimate VIP service to ensure that every detail of our clients' motoring desire is fulfilled,” Nigel Simpson, operations director of the Collection who previously worked for Reg Vardy for 25 years, said.

The Collection provides a full Heritage service, offering personalised, expert advice on investment, value creation, restoration, storage, maintenance and transportation.

A craftsman mechanic, with extensive expertise in repairs and re-builds, is joining the team and new sales staff with specific classic car knowledge will also be brought on board as the Collection expands.

The move of the Collection to Glasgow was welcomed by Peter Vardy, chief executive.

"We are delighted to welcome Nigel back,” he said, “and we are absolutely thrilled to have the Heritage Collection at the heart of the business. Classic cars not only offer great investment benefits, but can be driven and enjoyed without affecting their value."

Peter Vardy Group operates six Vauxhall volume dealerships in Aberdeen, Perth, Kirkcaldy, Edinburgh, Motherwell and Dalgety Bay.

In addition, it operates five prestige dealerships selling Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche or BMW-Mini vehicles as well as Scotland’s biggest indoor used car showroom, CarStore, at Hillington, Glasgow. Another CarStore supermarket is set to open in Dundee.
